Papelier - Patricia Müller

In short, Patricia Müller makes paper in her studio. Paper made from plant fibres or old textiles. In today's parlance this is re- or up-cycling, but she uses ancient papermaking knowledge.

She grinds old textiles made of natural fibres (jeans, sheets, shirts) in her own Dutchman and processes them until the desired consistency of the pulp is achieved. The plant fibres she uses are mainly flax, nettles, asparagus and artichokes, which she either collects, cultivates or extracts from scraps. Once the pulp has been prepared, the creative process begins: cards, packaging, books, light or art objects are made from it.
